Class Description
As we age, the risk of developing osteoporosis increases. For women, bone loss can accelerate during menopause, with a rapid decrease in bone mass over several years. While the rate of loss slows down after this period, it often continues into our senior years. One effective way to maintain bone strength and reduce the risk of fractures is through weight-bearing exercises. Yoga postures, being weight-bearing by nature, help preserve bone integrity by building strength, improving balance, and enhancing posture. In this class, we will focus on yoga postures specifically designed to promote bone health. You’ll also learn about poses to avoid or modify if you have low bone density. Props, including chairs, will be incorporated throughout the practice to ensure safety and accessibility for all participants. This class is suitable for everyone and is especially safe for individuals with low bone density.
